Took out a new credit card

4
I recently took out a Platinum cashback credit card with them and have been pretty pleased with them so far with a couple of provisos. Firstly, it transpires that you don't actually get cashback, instead you get the amount discounted off your anniversary bill - a tad disappointing as I'd hoped for cash in hand. Not a big issue, but I don't recall this being made clear when I signed up! Secondly, acceptance of the card is more limited than others such as Mastercard or Visa - though generally it is small independents that don't accept it. The reason I have been given is that they charge retailers more than other companies. Again not a major issue, but one to be aware of. I have a second credit card so it isn't a big problem. Switching my account

5
I had always been wary of switching anything as I felt that the hassle might outweigh the supposed benefits. But, when my bank branch closed down recently, I decided to switch. The added incentive of £100 to me and £25 to charity helped me make the decision! In the end the whole process has been totally seamless and went like a dream as I hardly had to do anything save let my employer know my new account details. Highly recommended! Credit account switch painless

5
In mid February I decided to switch my current account to the Co-operative bank, tempted by the £100 to myself and the £25 charitable donation. I applied online, answered a couple of questions and within a fortnight was told that they accepted me. They then sent me a load of bumph, a card and my PIN within another fortnight. Receiving my card I set up online banking in a matter of minutes and checked if my direct debits had been set up - they had. Finally, around two weeks ago I received a letter confirming that I had been credited £100 and inviting me to go online to decide where my £25 charitable donaion should go. On the whole I'm impressed so far and the people I spoke to couldn't have been nicer. Well recommended. Reviewed on: 10th April 2015
