Good for start ups ... maybe but there's better out there.

Tide is very user friendly with an above average in-app interface that is very intuitive, fun to use and easy for the eye. But that's the only real positive I can really think of.. There is a 20p transaction fee meaning everything you spend/transfer incurs in a 20p fee... this isn't realistic for business owners who have multiple wages to pay and things to buy. There is a £10k transfer cap per month meaning it's difficult to pay for large sum items within the month or even taxes. A lot of my clients struggled to update my Tide bank details when paying my invoices, I have no idea why but since I have changed banks - it's never happened again so as process of elimination goes; I suppose Tide wasn't the easiest for payment. The customer service is not bad, the in-app chat is actually quite good, a few bots dealing with the requests but very quickly you'll find a human agent who can help - so I can't fault them on that. In love with the in-app experience, customer service and overall ease of use. The app is very user friendly which I appreciate. There isn't a transaction fee like some business banks do which is fair and ethical in my opinion. Over £10k transfer limit and believe it or not; some business banks do have a cap and HSBC is trustworthy and experienced enough to raise this substantially. The customer service is brilliant, always quick and professional to answer my questions. Monthly letter updates is old fashioned but very handy, when a lot is going on - it's just not the same to keep referring to pdf's online and having to download them. Lots of good things and not a single bad that I can think of. Brilliant bank, will highly recommend them to anyone looking to open a business account. Reviewed on: 9th March 2023
