Review of the Chase Bank, Current account:

Pick a different bank.

Initially, Chase were fine. After my account had been running normally for some time, they asked for information which I found intrusive, and told me I would not be able to use my accounts if I didn't provide it. That was acceptable to me, I asked how to close the accounts, moved my money and used the app to close accounts. Chase did not close the accounts which remain open to this day, but I have no access to them in the app. Chase don't respond to contact, they won't close the accounts, goodness knows what's happening with them. I get regular notifications that there is a statement ready, or an interest report etc, but I can't access these things. I have contacted them under GDPR too as they continue to process my data unlawfully, but to no avail. They have been unpleasant, unhelpful and domineering. Stay well away. Absolutely pain-free experience with Starling.

Every single thing I've ever wanted to do with Starling, right from beginning the application process has been painless. I can't say that about any other financial institution I've dealt with. The app is easy to use, the functionality is great, the "spaces" are sooo handy and the customer service is fast, efficient and friendly. I've been with them for years and there hasn't been a single instance where I've regretted opening the account. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026

Easy to open, great features and pays interest!

Starling have been easy to deal with from the first steps in opening account to date. Always efficient, helpful and friendly when you need help - which isn't often, and the account has great features which make managing your money a doddle. Love it. Reviewed on: 13th April 2024

Independence for kids, peace of mind for parents.

Kite is a fantastic idea. Kids get to control their own money, within agreed limits, and learn to manage their spending. There is peace of mind for parents with notifications when the card is used, the ability to disable it every time it is mislaid and - importantly - parents can transfer money instantly when their child has taken the wrong train and needs extra funds urgently. Very happy with it. Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
