Review of the Zopa, Smart Saver:

Every last penny counts

4
Found out about Zopa through money saving expert. Interest rates for instant access and short/medium notice savers started off competitive and only improved. I have a 0% purchase credit card with a few thousand on it which needs to be paid off by September. Rather than settling this now, I'm getting 3.47% AER paid monthly which equates to about a tenner a month for it to sit there. The 90 day notice required stops me spending it and ensures I'll be alerted when the notice period expires and it's time to settle the card. That makes me happy. Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
Review of the Chase Bank, Current account:

Lots of ways to maximise your cash

Since my divorce and the cost of living crisis, I've increasingly needed to count the pennies. Chase make scrimping and saving a pleasure through the generous cashback and interest on the current account, the 5% offered on round up savings and over 3% for an easily accessed saver. I frequently keep money in this, transferring it across only when I need to spend - it's instant. The app is occasionally a bit crashy but that's probably due to how popular this market leading bank is. It's a no brainer really, especially if you can get other perks from other providers alongside this account. Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
