Chase burst onto the U.K. scene with a free current account promising cashback and interest. But does it live up to the hype? First, the good: 1% cashback on debit card spending for the first year (capped at £15 monthly) is a solid perk. Plus, 1% interest on your account balance adds a sweet bonus. The mobile app is sleek and user-friendly, making banking on the go a breeze. However, limitations lurk. No overdrafts, international payments, or cash deposits might be dealbreakers for some. Switching services are smooth, looking forward to account features like standing orders and cheque deposits. Verdict: For cashback fiends and minimalists, Chase offers a tempting starter account. No frills, just pure savings right of the bat.

Happy to have run across Chase. The 1% cash back is a boon! Not to mention which other bank gives you a 3% savings account without tying you up for a year. And 5% on your round-ups, where else can you get that? Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
