I have been with Santander since my own bank was taken over by them many years ago. I have always found them to be reliable and the 123 account is excellent value for money. I like the fact that I receive money back on my main bills and interest on my balance. Their customer service teams are also always excellent. My only complaint would be the lack of high street offices near me, meaning I Always have to contact them either by phone or webchat if I have a query, but as this isn't a regular occurence I can cope with it. Great service - but at a distance

I really like the 123 account for the ease of online management and for the good interest rates. My only criticism of Santander as a bank is the lack of branches on the High Street. There is nowhere i can visit to speak to someone face to face. When you need support (for example following a recent bereavement) it is very difficult to manage at a distance. A simple, secure bank

I've been with santander for over 25 years and have always found them easy to deal with. There are very few branches in this area however online banking is simple and the post office is an excellent substitute for paying in cheques or withdrawing cash when there are no cash machines. Recenlt I've been sending a regular payment to an overseas language teacher. Their international transfer option is simple and easy to use and offers an excellent exchange rate without any additional fees. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2022

always had good service but disappointed by recent interest rate reductions

I have been with Santander for over 20 years and have always valued this bank for it's level of service and for the interest paid on balances Also for the cashback earnings on regular bills. Recently however they have announced an interest rate cut which makes them one of the poorest paying banks in the UK. Reviewed on: 9th February 2020

20 years plus and still happy

I have been with Santander since it was Alliance and Leicester and I have never had any complaints. My only niggle is that all of the local branches near me seem to have closed down. It is fairly easy to bank with them online or via the post office however I recently tried to pay in a cheque and couldn't do it because I didn't have any paying in slips. I assumed that my debit card would be sufficient. Reviewed on: 6th June 2019
