Insurance didnt cover euthanasia

1
Recently had to have my 14 year old cat put to sleep as he was very ill.. and eventually he had a stroke and went blind and couldn't stand up or even walk..a decision was taken to have him put to sleep as he had been ill for some time and was suffering. Put in the insurance claim only for it to be refused because the policy didn't cover euthanasia apparently. So this insurance company expect you to pay for if yourself ( despite paying over £30 a month to them for years) i can not recommend this company Reviewed on: 2nd August 2023
Reply from The Insurance Emporium Good morning, We are sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our sincere condolences. Our policies do not cover the costs of euthanasia or cremation under the general policy terms. There can be an optional benefit upon purchase, that will cover the costs of these for both injury and illness, until a pet reaches the age of 8, where only claims under injury will be considered. This is fairly commonplace with pet insurance providers. Kind regards, Kirsty The Insurance Emporium Response date: 3rd August 2023
