Unreasonable Charges

It is disgraceful that I have to pay an admin fee to make a change on the website. I’m the one doing the admin yet I have to pay for the privilege! I also recently received an email advising that due to a system change I was required to call to update my wife’s occupation. The email stated in capitals that I should not make the change online as I would be charged therefore implying that by phoning as instructed a fee would not apply. I was amazed to find that a £25 admin fee was still payable, which I managed to get waived as a ‘goodwill gesture’ but the adviser did not understand that the email was actually misleading, and a breach of consumer duty requirements. I will not be renewing my policy. Reviewed on: 18th August 2023
