Review of the Admiral, Car insurance:

Poor response to a simple windscreen claim.

We've been loyal Admiral customers for several years with No Claims. This summer a stone chip to our RAV4 windscreen created a crack which meant the windscreen had to be replaced. Admiral referred us to Autoglass who told us there is "no glass in stock" nationwide but they would call when it was available. 2 weeks on, the crack is now enormous & Autoglass continue to tell us no glass is available. We called a rival firm who confirmed they are able to carry out the work & there is no shortage of glass. Autoglass continue to tell us there is no glass available nationwide when questioned again. Admiral tell us they are escalating our claim but that they won't pay for the work to be done by another firm even though our car is not road-worthy since the crack has grown. We have young kids & a family holiday booked for next week: we wonder why we pay our insurance premium if this is the kind of "cover" provided. It seems no one can sort the claim out or compensate us for our difficulties. It would be hard to recommend this company to anyone. Reviewed on: 18th August 2023
