Review of the Admiral, Car insurance:

They don't like to make it easy for you

I had car insurance already with Admiral and after several phone calls from them selling me the multi car "deal" I gave in and moved my cars in the household to them. Then later the renewal quote arrived and it was as expected a major jump up in premium cost. A quick comparisons of other insurers for the cars individually I was shocked to find it a lot cheaper. Tried to cancel with the bot online and as usual “computer said no”. Had to ring up and speak to an agent which after much faffing around, including being transfer to another representative I did price got to something similar to quotes found online. Having spent well over an hour on all this I gave in and renewed with Admiral as was at the end of my tether. In hindsight wish I hadn’t as realised when going over the documents a few weeks later that to make it “a more competitive price” the value to car had lowered, estimated mileage was lowered, and named driver had been dropped. I really don’t know how they get away with continuing to advertise that their multi car deal is cheaper when it clearly isn’t. Looking forward to when I can leave and even made a note in the Calendar for next year saying “do not auto renew” Reviewed on: 24th August 2023
