Trying to charge me for recovery costs

Our car got stuck in the snow last December, wedged sideways between the two verges of a narrow lane. I have their breakdown & recovery policy, in addition to accident insurance, so I called to be rescued. I told them there was likely to be damage where the car was wedged, but I couldn't tell for certain until it was freed. The car was successfully recovered, and luckily there was no damage, so I called to tell them I didn't need to make an insurance claim. 6 months later, I received a demand for £118.50 recovery costs, on the grounds that I initially said I was likely to make a claim, even though I never did. They wouldn't let this go, so I initiated their complaints procedure, but this refused the complaint, and I have now referred the matter to the financial ombudsman. Despite the ongoing dispute, they have continued to send demands, and threatened legal action. They may have competitive rates, but dealing with them is such an ordeal that I will never deal with them again, and I would recommend anyone to pay a bit more for a better insurer.
