Review of the LV (Liverpool Victoria), Life Insurance:

LV - term life insurance

LV are my current main life insurance policy provider (as a type 1 diabetic I have more than one policy to cover other aspects). They were recommended as the main holder of the term life insurance I got from a broker and while they were not able to provide the full cover I required I have had no cause to fault them. I have fit involved in their community forum and even won one of their monthly prize draws for doing so. Reviewed on: 6th September 2026

Review of the Bestinvest, Investments:

Bestinvest investment ISA

Bestinvest provide a number of services but I utilise their S&S ISA. They provide at least one free 'coaching' session to help you set goals. This is obviously trying to set up regular advice but is fairly invaluable for newer investors/savers. They have an incredibly large pool of investments and their own Evelyn smart portfolios as well. Main drawbacks are fees - there is a shared dealing fee, and a relatively high 0.4% management fee (reduced on balance or with their Evelyn products). They also carry a slightly more dated interface than some newer platforms but I would say I prefer it over something like AJ Bells default. Reviewed on: 6th September 2026

Ladybird insurance... A significant discount

Went with ladybird insurance this year - a significant discount over my previous insurance with Hastings. Was highly customisable to suit what I needed. Review of the PayPal, PayPal Credit:

Payment provider that gives a little extra

I use PayPal infrequently but when I do it serves the purpose I require admirably. Particularly good for ensuring transactions are carried out transparently and fairly. Fees could be lower and rewards could be higher but it fills a niche in my accounts that I am grateful for. Reviewed on: 7th April 2026
