My first ever claim

Back in April 2023, I traveled to Canada on my own, I went to help my sister with some personal things and was supposed to be with her for 3 weeks. I took out medical insurance for myself never thinking for one second that I would be making a claim, not because something had happened to me but because my husband had been taken Ill back in the UK while I was away, so I had to get an urgent flight home. Looking more closely at my travel insurance I realised that I was also covered should my holiday be cut short due to a loved one becoming sick. It took some months to get the money back, having to fill out a lot of forms getting doctors to fill their part out and hospital information but eventually I did get refunded to more than I expected, so I was very grateful to the insurance company. At one point I almost gave up as the first lot of forms I sent wasn’t received and I had to start all over again. However my advice is never give up, if you have a genuine claim stick with it, the way I see it you pay a lot of money for the insurance to start with so don’t lose heart they have a reason for being so thorough into any claim because of the people that try and make fraudulent claims. I would highly recommend this company as they did pay out and as I said they paid more than what I was expecting, so I guess they were compensating me because of my trip being cut short and for the flight home.
