Payments declined, terrible customer service

Travelling in Australia. First decline happened in Singapore after the first purchase went trough ok. Second decline was a £500 purchase using Apple Pay. App chatbot totally useless and recommends a phone call. Spent 45 minutes, most of it on hold, and was told the problem was not with the card but was caused by Apple Pay purchase value limits and it would clear after 24 hours. It didn’t. First transaction the following day worked and the second didn’t. Tried using the physical card and PIN, as suggested by a fraud rep during the call but that didn’t work either. Luckily I have a Monzo card so will be using it for the rest of my holiday. If you were thinking of using a Clarity card for your holiday, think again. I shall be cutting mine up when I get home.
