Review of the Admiral, Travel Insurance:

Admiral policies don't cover Le Shuttle strike action.

I thought I was insured through my policy when Le Shuttle / Eurotunnel went on strike end of December 2023, finding myself stuck in Calais, alone, no trains running no accommodation, uncertain when I could get back to the UK. I had to find emergency accommodation which was not easy as lots of people were in the same predicament but managed to find somewhere eventually. Euro tunnel honoured my ticket and got me on a train next day.. However Admiral would not accept that it was 'missed departure' as I was not delayed on public transport. Eurotunnel does not count as public transport. Please be aware of this if you use Admiral Travel Insurance. So extra accommodation and expenses due to Le Shuttle industrial action are NOT covered by this company. Read the smallprint to check if such circumstances are covered in your policy.
