Review of the Admiral, Home insurance:

Spotted a mistake made by 2 previous insurers and saved me a small fortune!

When we tried to switch our home insurance to Admiral our payment didn't go through online as there seemed some discrepancy between the info we had given and what was held on our claim file accessible to insurance companies. When we rang to speak with a customer service/sales agent we spoke with possibly the nicest, most helpful person ever. It transpired that the company we were with several years prior (and we were with another company after) had recorded an enquiry we made as a claim, thus increasing our premiums and marking our record visible to other insurers as if we had made a claim. As our previous insurer's phone lines were closed at that time, he took our details and asked when would be convenient to call us back, as he would have to wait to call our previous insurer during their operating hours to clarify the issue. When he called back, not only had he sorted everything out with our previous insurer, removing the mark from our record, but was able to offer an even cheaper quote than the one we had received on the online comparison site that brought us to choosing Admiral. At the same time, as our car insurance was due for renewal within a couple of months, we agreed to get a quote from Admiral; again, they saved us money on our (then) current policy, without any reduction in cover. All in all, we now pay less for our home insurance and 2 car policies than we previously did for just home insurance, due to the erroneous claim marked on our file raising our premiums with our previous 2 insurers. However, it's not just the price that impressed us; the agent we spoke with, who dealt with everything himself, never once passing us through to another person or department, keeping us informed of every step of the process, and generally being an absolute star; this is what really impressed us about Admiral. When we contacted Admiral on social media to leave feedback on our experience and to recognise the great efforts of their colleague, they contacted us privately to confirm our details so that they could trace the agent who dealt with us and make sure they heard our feedback and were recognised by their team/manager for a job well done. I was so pleased to see that the praise would be shared with the person who prompted it, and not just be left as a pat-on-the-back on the company's social media.
