1. After opening the account and receiving initial emails, I discovered a surprise £3 monthly fee for the Santander Edge current account. While the information might exist somewhere, it wasn't clear during the application process.
2. Santander performed a hard credit check on my credit history when opening the account, negatively impacting my score. I wasn't informed about this check beforehand.
3. When I visited a branch to close the account, I was directed to call customer service, despite not being registered for telephone banking. While the representative assured me they could close the account without registration, this wasn't the case. I had to wait another week for a letter with a password to finally register for phone banking and complete the closure.
