Step change took me from mentally lost, angry, frust...

Step change took me from mentally lost, angry, frustrated, and at breaking point to a more relaxed person over a period of time. Yes debt is frightening but once I got my pride out of the way and asked for help it was a step up the ladder. Phoning stepchange did make my feel embarrassed and a failure talking to them but they made me realise that I'd made the first step to feeling better about myself and with their help I would feel more better about myself and not feel I wasn't coping alone. This helped me, but not just myself but also my family who saw eventually a more relaxed person about my financial situation. I'm not saying it's easy but it is overwhelming to have the great weight lifted from your shoulders. Over time they review things and work for you and not your debtors. If you are struggling with payments via stepchange their review allows you to reduce your payments if that's what you need for you. Remember they are all about YOU!! The hardest part as I found was making the first phone call and must have put it off for about 6 months telling myself, I can cope, just juggle this and that this month and next month things will be better. No sorry that just didn't work. My stepchange payments have gone up and down over time due to work situations so unlike paying debtors you don't get overwhelmed again and everything feels manageable again and you can claim your life back.
