Practical help with sympathy and understanding.

With great trepidation I made my first phone call to StepChange, to be offered not only effective practical help but sympathetic understanding. At no time was I made to feel stupid or irresponsible in any way, and every effort was made to work out a solution that was financially viable for me. StepChange came to acceptable agreements with all my creditors, relieving me of the necessity of continual individual communications with them. This was obviously a tremendous relief. Since then my finances are reviewed annually by StepChange with payment changes made where necessary, all the time making sure they are completely manageable. After several years the amounts owing have greatly reduced, and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

I wish I had known about this service years before!!

Helpful, understanding and supportive staff who never belittle you. They do their utmost to make sure any plan or payments put in place are affordable. Should your circumstances change it is easy to contact them to adjust your payments, whether up or down. I only wish I had known about them years before! Reviewed on: 1st May 2024
