Rubbish - wouldn't give them any stars if it was an option - I'd give minus if I could

I have 2 labs who both developed warts/growths on the eyes that eventually needed removing. On checking with AF they said I could go ahead to get them removed. One dog they paid out a limited amount of money, - deducting money because she is over 8 years old so I was out of pocket and the second dog, because I had taken her to the vets previously for the vet to LOOK at the eye wart back in 2016 (when it was very small and the vet advised me to leave it alone as it wasn't bothering her and to wait and see if it got any bigger) they said I had gone over the 365 days period and refused to pay my claim at all. They are also excluding any eye growths from the "new" year. AF say that their policies are annual policies so if you have consulted the vet over an illness or injury and take their professional advice and leave it but keep an eye on it they will either deduct 2 lots of excess or refuse to pay altogether. It strikes me that this also means that if your dog has a serious or long term condition they will NEVER be covered for more than 12 months and of course it is then very difficult to find an insurer to cover an existing issue - so better to start with an insurer who provides continuous cover rather than 1 year policies. With my one dog they said they would deduct money because a cyst she had removed wasn't cancerous but I don't know how the hell they expect you to find that out without removing it. I'm still fuming! Don't bother with them they're rubbish! I have been with them for a number of years but fortunately never had to claim before - and I would have been financially MUCH better off just putting the premiums into an account and using that money to pay for this. Needless to say that I will be cancelling both policies. They have some really dreadful reviews online on other sights - so well worth checking them all before taking a policy with them.
