High meat and tea costs drive up food prices

You may have noticed your supermarket shop costing more than usual (I know I have!) and you’d not be wrong. Food prices rose 4% in the year to July, up from 3.7% the month before. Staples such as meat - beef and chicken in particular - have seen prices hit, as well as tea, as a result of tighter global supplies.
