Unacceptable customer service! I walked in and I was welcomed by a young Asian lady. I asked her about apprenticeship in Barclays. I explained that I already went through the online process, I applied for the closest vacancies but was emailed that there aren't any near me. Instead of responding with a resolution or consulting with someone if she didn't know about apprenticeship, she simply said "Go on the Barclays website!"

I tried to explain myself again but she said "I don't know what you mean!" It was awkward, clearly she didn't want to communicate. All I wanted it was some help. I was strongly considering becoming an apprentice there but I am very disappointed with the staff; it hasn't been the 1st time as I am a customer there too! For such a well known bank I would have expected high level customer service. Please do train your staff better before letting them talk to customers because they are the ones representing Barclays! I will be awaiting customer service to come back to me and then I will update and post once they have.

Worst insurance ever!!! Don’t be fooled by reviews that talk about experiences people had when they took the insurance. I was as fooled as everyone else. I was so proud of this insurance and even told friends about it..but after a medical emergency while on a plane to a holiday which led me to being hospitalised for such a long while, Barclays treated me as if I deserved totally nothing. My claim took 7 months to process and I had to relive the terrible experiences I had. I even wished I didn’t claim at all. I felt completely demoralised and broken to bits. I was even made to pay further costs to help facilitate my claim or else as I was told, my claim wouldn’t go further. I was so intimidated. My doctors provided every bit of information and Barclays simply didn’t care. My costs increasingly became more than the cost of my claim eventually I was worse off financially after I started claiming. Most tearful experience ever.

Recently switches had a few issues with barclays but after speaking to employees I was reasured and compensated for a missunderstanding. I am happy I switched back accounts from santander to barclays. Barclays offer a high intrest rate for my help to buy iser. I have recommended Barclays to my boyfriend and we both now are saving in two separate help to buy isers. we are both current account users and find that the Barclays app is easy enough to use.

Barclays' student addition is a good product if you just want to deposit your money and withdraw it anytime you want. That's it. Just an account to put the money. There's no profit, no good offer or cashback, no interest option, just a safe money...

Bank not transparent with their lending criteria

The bank did not disclose at the outset what type of property they would not lend on. Basically if their surveyor did not like the decor then he would give a bad report and the bank would not lend. All this and 4 months of them faffing about with the application and having told us its 99% certain that they would lend us the finance, and we had spent money on legal fees, private surveys etc based on their assurances. Very very unfair.
