We have several joint accounts with the Barclays Bank and due to our disability we also have online banking account which was working reasonably well until they introduces step- 2 which seemed to be giving feeling of added security
Since beginning of March my contactless card stop working at any stores and left us in embarrassing situation and had to go without purchase my partner’s debit card was not renewed after they issued PINsentry as it was proving difficult to use payment machines having to type the pin numbers this prevented my partner windrowing money or making all purchase.. Also prevented access on online banking (PINsentry is of no use without a card)
My online account failed to recognise my details, my surname, my bank account numbers, passcode even renewed one, verification code SMS on my mobile to confirm my log in, and now they have blocked my account where we get our pension money which we cannot windrow or transfer to any other account or do online shopping
We rang the numbers given on chat line three times and E-mail complains 0345 7345 345 and 0345 600 2323
Waited on phone more than 1:45 min and then getting cut off
e-mail and chat line were advisers were from call centres and all they could say was ring and thy did not have access to our account details, but they could have forwarded our complains and problems with account to someone in UK to address as they had our contact details account number, our mobile numbers and our home address.
Covid-19 excuse does not help those who are 70 plus and on lockdown and have family member on Shielding order

My very elderly mother has always used Barclays phone banking. She has been trying to get through to them to do various things for over three weeks now. Today she was on hold for an hour and a quarter before giving up. I could understand it at the beginning of the COVID crisis but they should have sorted something out by now. I tried to set up online banking for her but that didn't work either. She can't access her own money. Terrible terrible company.

We are a UK Based International VAT compliance Firm who help companies around with world with their VAT compliance. We recently found a number of inbound client payments being withheld by Barclays. We immediately called Barclays to try understand what was going on. Barclays claim one of our clients who sent us a (a small one off payment of 800.00GBP) was being called into question.

Barclays claim they tried reaching us Many times in relation to this payment
and claim we never got back to them. Because of this one payment they are questioning. Barclays have now for a period of weeks being withholding a number of our inbound Payments from a number of different clients! This is needless to say causing a number of problems for our business and is of course a serious breach of trust from Barclays who are Fraudulently withholding our Payments! I say fraudulently becuase of the following reasons:

1. The one single payment brought into question, they have never given us any valid reason as to why they are questioning this payment in the first place. We are still in the dark, and have made many attempts to get an answer from Barclays.

2. They claim to have contacted us many times in relation to this one payment, however we have checked our emails and can confirm we have not received any email correspondence from Barclays. We can confirm we received no text messages or voicemails either! We also make use of Barclays online banking and banking App and again we confirm that there was no effort made by Barclays to contact us there Either! Barclays claim they posted us 3 separate letters telling us to contact them. Again we can confirm that we never received a single letter from Barclays! (Utter lies from Barclays)
3. We have subsequently contacted the complaints department and logged 2-3 separate complaints, yet we have not heard back from them either over a period of weeks!

Has anyone else experience such diabolical behaviour from Barclays Business or Private Banking, where Barclays have laid claim to their money (fraudulently keeping it) without any reason or explanation?!

Very concerned about how a Bank such as Barclays can act in such an illegal manner! Please let me know if you have received similar treatment as we have from Barclays.

Do not trust Barclays - what a bunch of dodgy people. They have mislead me with travel insurance. I was of the fair belief that she was covered - this travel insurance policy I have held for several years, I pay for it monthly out of my pension. I feel like I have been taken advantage of and mislead - and they wonder why nobody trusts Banks and Insurance companies. I have today been informed (trapped in Australia due to the Corona Virus shutting down airlines), that my policy is not valid for my trip and I am (surprise) uninsured.
I have tried to work through this with the phone support who is a 'computer says no' person and rather than working with me to identify a solution is quick to inform me that it is not their problem. I asked to be escalated, yes 'all managers are unavailable at the moment', I request to hold, then the line goes dead - or he hung up. So sad that a company that spends so much on clever marketing to convince us they care about their customers and to trust them, simply can't be trusted.

I'm Discussed......!!! I have multiple accounts.
I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and I've never missed a payment, Nationwide my mortgage provider contacted me weeks ago offering a payment break due to the Coronavirus. I am self-employed and have been ordered by the Government to close the doors and stop trading for possibly three weeks, like thousands of others have to!!! Not my choice. So I called Barclays this morning explaining my situation and asked for a payment break from my loan, only to be told they have NOTHING in place and can't help me through these troubled times absolute joke Barclays thanks so much for your help. Our Government are doing an amazing job and trying to assist the entire country financially through these troubled times and Barclays can't even help there own loyal customers..!!!!

I have a BTL mortgage and wanted to repay some of the loan value and reduce the repayment term. Barclays suggested paying down the maximum without incurring any penalties. Great I thought, until they conveniently forgot to mention to me that if you pay more than 3 months worth of your usual monthly mortgage payment, they reduce your new monthly amount, BUT the term of the mortgage remains the same. I feel like Barclays were not transparent or clear enough at the time when I made my enquiries and should have been more honest. I wouldn't have even thought to ask them whether they had some sort of '3 month rule'. Lesson learnt! I will be moving to another lender now, once my term with Barclays is up in a few months time and will have cleared a big chunk of my mortgage. I wouldn't recommend Barclays. They are sneakyand dishonest.

Had a savings account with Barclays for over 5 years. They made in dormant and despite going into Branch with ID to proveI owned the account and the Branch manager verifying this with me I was advised it could take up to 12 weeks to reopen. This prevents me from moving my money into another higher interest earning account which is obviously all just a scam to keep your money and stop you reinvesting it. Absolutely disgusting behaviour for a bank. No other bank takes 12 weeks to do this. I am appalled!!!!

My family have been members of Barclays for years. Their customer service is of great quality and they always have someone on the end of the phone to talk to. Any issues are solved quickly and without any extra hassle.
The online banking system that they use is extremely efficient and easy to use. 100% would recommend.
