A lot to be desired

Higher fees than other providers, poor selection of investment options compared to competitors particularly in individual shares, an app that is is unfit for purpose, chat support function is down every other day, communication is dire, there are far better options available Reviewed on: 3rd December 2025

Barclays Stockbrokers trading platform is an excelle...

Barclays Stockbrokers trading platform is an excellent tool that puts the trader in the driving seat with all the information, graphs and tools needed to trade frome. Unfortunately someone at Barclays made the grave mistake of taking Barclays Stockbrokers trading platform off line and forcing customers to trade from an amature app feature/web page they call "smart investor" which has nothing to do wit "smartness" as it times out if not touched and it is no substitute for the professional type Barclays Stockbrokers trading platform. Barclays have ignored repeated requests to re-launch Barclays Stockbrokers trading platform. Problem number 2: a "company" did a reverse-stock-split. Barclays failed miserably to get the stock back onto trading when the "company" resumed trading 4 days ago, and all other brokers are ahead of the game and are allowing customers to trade. The Barclays stockbroking product "Barclays Smart Investor" has existed since about 2017. It's not a patch on its predecessor. Web interface is poor. All the research information has been dumbed down. It used to be free of any standing charges if you were a Premier customer, but now it's a 0.1% of all assets held within ones portfolio, or 0.2% for OEICs. Subject to a maximum £125/month. It's a shame; Barclays staff have provided me with excellent service over many decades. Brokers are still in Glasgow. Reviewed on: 18th July 2023

I got my funds recovered
