Remortgage was easy, let down by conveyancer

We got our mortgage offer fairly quickly but their free conveyancing provider tried to argue that we had not sent the additional deposit amount which did lead to some stress/back and forth. They did eventually find the monies and apologise Reviewed on: 5th June 2023

Can't get the basics right

Coming to the end of our 5 year fixed rate Mortgage with Barclays. Looking around they offered the best Tracker rate for 2 years and 5 years. As it had a product fee, the 5 year was the obvious choice. So we applied through the Barclays website after logging in. They eventually sent us the paperwork delayed due to postal strikes (Not Barclays fault). However we had applied for 5 year's they sent us the paperwork for 2 years. Eventually after going through the process of contacting them via online chat it took another month for the correct paperwork to arrive. Fortunately we had given ourselves plenty of time before the fixed rate ends. The initial process 5 year's ago was just as bad, in the end they sent us 3 offers of a Mortgage but only sent our legal representative 2 copies. Again more delays taking 6 months for it complete. We nearly lost the house as the Vendor thought it was us dragging it out. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023
