Useless company to deal with

1
Having tried to get some sense out of a refund - yes refund from them - they advise me that as I requested a cheque they just couldnt say when I would get this as their staff were all working from home, but if I gave them my bank details I could have the overpayment in 5 days. Suspicious or what! What reputable company works like this. Staff spout the usual nonsense and fob you off and think that an apology makes their appalling service better. The worst company I have ever dealt with

There doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. The only people you can talk to are call centre employees who are not able to actually help with anything more complicated than setting up a payment plan. If you need help with anything else they will fob you off for months, and will not even respond to complaints. Reviewed on: 18th March 2021

Rude and ill informed staff, inaccurate records and statements of account.

I had a Marbles credit card account which was passed to Hoist Finance as I fell behind with payments. They are a very difficult company to deal with and it seems that their sole objective is to recover funds as quickly as possible with no regard for an individual's financial circumstances. I felt so aggrieved by the treatment I received from them that I took my case to the Financial Ombudsman who upheld my complaint and instructed them to pay me compensation. Despite, although they did pay the compensation, they have continued with their questionable practices. For example, they issue me with monthly statements dated on the 6th of each month but the payment date is shown as the 5th of the same month. Obviously it is impossible for the payment to reach them by the date shown on the statement and as a consequence they report missed payments to the Credit Reference Agencies on a monthly basis.
