Go-to provider for travel insurance for bicycle travel

This review is caveated by the fact I have never had to claim, however that aside the insurance product is excellent in that I can easily arrange cover for cycle touring/bikepacking, particularly for journeys of longer duration, and being over 50 this is something not generally understood by other insurance providers. The value is also excellent. As such Sportscover Direct has become my go-to provider for travel insurance for bicycle travel. Reviewed on: 10th October 2024

The ultimate proof of an insurance company would be...

The ultimate proof of an insurance company would be the claims handling.. thankfully I've not needed that so all I can judge on is the cover offered and the ease of getting specialist cover. I'm in the habit of longer biketouring/bikepacking adventures overseas and as I got older (50+) found it almost impossible to get cover for bike touring anywhere else for journeys of more than a couple of weeks. I appreciate that Sportscover understand that those who engage in such activities are generally fitter/healthier than average and know what they're doing (hopefully), and can offer such cover.
