Renewal increased by £400 for no reaso

My renewal came in after 2 years with RAC. They increased by £400 to £1150. I have not claimed or contacted them in the year. I have 9 years NCB and increased for no reason. Many will auto review and get completely ripped off. Shameful and criminal. I shopped around and got insured with less excess for £550. When will insurance companies be held to account.
