Speedy at opening an account - smooth service

Speedy at opening an account - Opened my account at the weekend (good savings rate) it was simple and clear application form. The account was open ready to go use on Monday. There was one hiccup on getting the 2 factor authentication to my mobile, I called customer service who answered quickly and sorted everything in a simple way. Reviewed on: 8th October 2024

Cannot transfer funds, no customer service solution

My Husband has (soon to be had) a savings account with Skipton for 1 yr. He wanted to move some funds but the app said he needed to use his nominated phone (he only has one phone) however his phone would not let him enter the secure number. He called customer service to ask for support and they said they could do nothing as his only phone was not registered... To get his phone activated he had to take in photo ID to a branch, (as branches are closing) the nearest is central London and will take a 4hr round trip. Alternatively he can wait 3-5 days for a form and get his ID verified by a solicitor. Neither option are very modern or user friendly. He is now writing to the CEO Stuart Haire, [email protected] to complain about this unacceptable process which only became apparent when he wanted to move money and will now take approx 14 days to do and he will miss the deadline he needs to meet. Locked out of account, with no explanation

Both my husband and I were locked out of accounts. First my business accounts, then 2 weeks later our joint accounts. Bounced between service teams who knew nothing. The CEO's executive team did not even respond in the promised time frame and no one knew whey there was a lock. My husband had to provide rafts of business statements for a personal account (each one costing, as it needed his accountant to provide). Service was beyond appalling. Reviewed on: 5th October 2024
