Free basic bank card for children

Since the child banking service is now free, it makes it an exceptional service for children. I was worried that my son had lost his card two times in a short period of time, however Starling quickly sent out a new card no questions asked or hidden fees. Would be nice to see a full app and Apple/Google Pay support for children to help teach them more about finance, they are already experts on their devices, however I am very happy with the service which is not available from most other banking companies. Smarter banking for the next generation

No longer do we need to wait in line to pay a cheque into a branch office which took you 20 minutes to get to and cost £5 in petrol and parking, these days we just take a photo of the check and the funds appear your account. No longer do we have to wait to ask a question, just ask on your phone, in the middle the night if you wish! Little things like the card design, with the numbers on the underside instead of on the top to thwart would be thieves with CCTV, and the name of the card displayed in just the right place to be visible in your wallet. My 12 year old son has a sub account with his own card and app which is constantly improving, and my daughter could open a current account at 16, two years earlier than the competing banks. This is a company who clearly think and spend time designing an experience rather than just take your money! Reviewed on: 16th February 2022
