WHEN I NEEDED AMEX TO HELP THEY LET ME DOWN

I have had a Amex card for 30 years. Now I have a platinum business card and a personal card. I left my credit card details with British Airways and BA stole my money. Amex refused to refund me. I wonder if it has anything to do with BA and Amex being partners on the credit card. And the customer service at Amex was rude and dismissive. But they are very good at taking £650 in fees per year.
