Starling leads & others try to catch up.

Both myself & my wife have been Starling customers since 2018, with both of us having individual & joint accounts, plus the Euro account extension. As we are both retired / over 65 we are in an age group that could be considered cautious of new technology, and no doubt constitutes a very small percentage of Starling customers, yet we have found the app comprehensive & easy to use both in the UK & abroad & in less common currencies. As neither of us have had any issues or concerns with any aspect of the Starling offering (which could not be said for our experiences with 'mainstream' institutions) it is only fair to give Starling full marks for what they do & the service they provide. The future of personal banking has arrived

At first I was a bit dubious about trying another App. based bank having previously been disappointed with the stability of another provider's App. I was wrong. I tried Starling for a personal account & was impressed at how seamlessly it worked. After a short trial period my wife also opened a personal account, swiftly followed by a joint account. Having used Starling in various countries we can confirm that the App. & push notifications are almost instantaneous. The rounding up & Spaces facilities are useful, as are the budgeting & spending breakdown reports. We are unable to comment on customer support as nothing has gone wrong & we have not needed to contact support. Reviewed on: 9th February 2019
