Review of the Starling Bank, Current account:

A breath of fresh air.

I remember once taking an hour and a half to open a simple savings account with a traditional bank. With Starling I could do this in real time, using my phone. Great experience and compared to previous experiences with overpriced borrowing and charges I could apply for an overdraft facility without going anywhere. My application was quickly approved and charges are very fair and well explained. I now consider Starling to be my main current account and have moved most transactions and direct debits to this account. They communcate well. The in-app customer support chat is polite and helpful with any queries. The marketplace idea is forward looking. Payments are fast and notifications too which gives me most realtime way to manage my money. Starling is my favourite bank and deserve to win an award. Very happy they report to equifax and Call Credit (Noddle), though currently not yet Experian. This should be possible in future. Reviewed on: 9th February 2019
