The Banking Gold Standard

I’ve been using Revolut for a few years now, and honestly, it’s made my old high-street bank account feel like a relic of the past. It’s rare that a banking app actually makes life easier, but Revolut hits the mark. What I love most: Travel is a breeze: I used to stress about exchange rates and hidden fees whenever I went abroad. Now, I just tap my card and know I’m getting a fair rate. Being able to hold different currencies in the app is a total lifesaver. Peace of mind: The security features are incredible. If I misplace my card, I just "freeze" it in the app instantly. I also use the disposable virtual cards for every online purchase—it’s a huge relief knowing my real card details aren't floating around the web. Total control: The instant notifications are addictive. I know exactly what I’ve spent the second it happens. Plus, the "Pockets" feature has finally helped me put money aside for bills without accidentally spending it. The catch: The only downside I’ve found is that their support is almost entirely chat-based. It works fine, but if you’re someone who likes walking into a branch to talk to a human, this might take some getting used to. Verdict: If you’re tired of clunky banking apps and hidden fees, just get it. It’s completely changed how I manage my money, and I wouldn't go back. Reviewed on: 12th January 2026
