Theyve made such a big difference to my life

Unexpected things in life had caused me to get into debt. Although I had a good job I was unable to keep on top of things due to the living crisis. Due to the interest of credit cards I got to a point where each month I was only paying that and not the balance so was a never ending cycle. I was ashamed of this so didn’t speak up till it all got too much. I was recommended to step change by national debt line and was a very smooth process once I let them know my outgoings and income. They were so friendly, compassionate and friendly. My only regret is not reaching out for help prior to it as I was extremely stressed and unable to enjoy life. They take an affordable payment each month and with any additional income e.g a work bonus I’m able to pay it off quicker. It’s been less than 2 years and went from 8k debt, living pay check to paycheck to having less than 2k of debt left to pay. I am much more careful of what I’m spending since then and living a bit more comfortable now. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
