From despair to hope for the future

When the cost of living crisis hit we started to really struggle and debt we had previously been just about able to pay we no longer could. We started to spiral until we came to a point where we thought we were going to default on our mortgage and lose our home. We were pointed in the direction of step change and it was the best thing that could of happened we got breathing space so all our bills stopped for a short time allowing us to catch up and focus in paying our mortgage. They then helped us to plan our budget and worked out what we had available after our living costs to pay back to our creditors. Step change contacted them all and handled all the repayments so we pay one sum to step change a month and they look after everything else. As time has gone on and our income and expenditure has changed it’s really simple to inform step change and they alter the repayments accordingly. I can’t say how grateful my wife and I are to have found step change and for the help they have given us we were literally in the pits of despair and they lifted us out and showed us the way forward.
