When I was in serious debt over £20,000 I had no one to turn to. I felt ashamed, overwhelmed and hopeless. I heard an ad for step change on the radio and I made the initial call. Straight away from that first night in September 2021 I felt there was hope. For the first time in years I was being proactive.I felt so much support. Once Step Change stepped in most of my lenders became understanding and supportive too. now in June 2025 I’m debt free with only one default on credit file (Halifax £750 although all was repaid) my other lenders supported me and didn’t hold it against me. . Now I’m debt free with a credit rating of 909!!! I can’t praise Step Change enough. They really are an amazing charity!!! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
