StepChange Changed My Life!

StepChange literally changed my life. I was in a lot of debt and in a very bad place. StepChange enabled me to rebuild my life and give my family the standard of living that I should be able to give them. This charity will 100% be saving lives and preventing significant mental health issues, I cannot imagine the spiral I would be in now had I not approached StepChange. I had to choose to seek help, which I had avoided for fear of stigma and for the process being too hard, but it was very straightforward and the weight that was lifted immediately enabled me to start thinking clearly and get out of the hole I was in. There was no stigma and, although to start with I was very secretive about my position, I have been more than open with others about StepChange as I feel many people hide debt away as I was doing and, in my opinion, money worries are the biggest cause of stress and stress has significant links to a shorter life.
