After retiring in 2018 I found it hard to manage on...

After retiring in 2018 I found it hard to manage on a much reduced, retirement income. My credit card debt quickly increased and for over 12 months I began to seriously struggle to maintain minimum payments. I found it hard to rest and sleep at night, and finally accepted that I needed help to gain control of my financial situation. I was uncomfortable and nervous about discussing my situation with a stranger but found the adviser to be both friendly and professional. I accepted I cannot afford to make spontaneous purchases, and will need to manage my available income towards future purchases. A manageable budget and repayment plan for my creditors was devised and I feel confident that I can adhere to this. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025
