Awning Damage stories

Have claimed twice for damaged awnings. One sustained rips and tears during a sudden powerful gust of wind that ripped out the awning stakes and blew it over the caravan. The CC Club insurance paid for repairs. The second occurrence was an inflatable awning that simply burst open whilst we were out. The insurance didn’t pay out as they said it was a manufacturing defect, but they did point me towards appealing the CC itself, which had some success. Not a full reimbursement but a substantial chunk of it was kindly awarded. Reviewed on: 3rd September 2025
