Account Disappeared Left Without Access or Explanation

My current account suddenly vanished from the NatWest app right after I transferred money to another bank account in my own name. No warning, no message, and no explanation. When I called customer service, I was told they “can’t help” and that someone will contact me within 24 hours. The fraud team were polite but also powerless to do anything. So I’m left overnight without access to my own funds, not knowing what’s going on. In 2025, this level of customer service is unacceptable. If an account is restricted, an automated message should be sent instantly explaining why. There should be a clear and immediate way to verify your identity and resolve it — not an anxious 24-hour wait with no answers. This has caused unnecessary financial stress and genuine anxiety. It’s astonishing that a major UK bank can still operate with systems this outdated and indifferent to customers. Do not use NatWest if you value reliable access to your own money.
