Misleading Loyalty Discount

1
I’m a returning customer, having just come back from holiday a couple of weeks ago, my previous Goodtogoinsurance.com policy only ended on Tuesday 28th October 2025. So when I got an email at 9am this morning saying: “Here’s a LOYALTY DISCOUNT for your next trip, Get 20% off the base premium of your next travel insurance policy!” …I thought, fair enough, nice to see a bit of appreciation for returning customers. Fast-forward about an hour and a half later, I ran a new quote. And guess what? No 20% discount to be found anywhere. The price was virtually identical to my last policy, which had ended only two weeks ago. So, off to live chat I go. The agent (who, to be fair, was perfectly polite and just doing their job) informs me that the company increased its base rates on 27/10/2025 due to “rising global healthcare costs” and “industry-wide claims.” Apparently, the “20% discount” was added after that increase. So just to be clear: They’ve hiked the base rate, then sent out an email shouting about a 20% discount and within a couple of hours of that email arriving, my quote still comes out at the same old price. Amazing how “rising global costs” can jump that fast between breakfast and lunch, isn’t it? If this is what they call a “loyalty reward,” I’d love to see how they treat new customers. I’m not blaming the chat agent, they were fine but the company’s marketing is completely misleading, especially for people like me managing long-term medical conditions who already pay a premium for honest cover. When you’re forking out £840 for a 10-day trip, every pound counts, and false discounts like this just leave a sour taste. I’ll be sharing this across other platforms so other travellers aren’t taken in by these “offers.” Verdict: 1 out of 5 – Misleading promotion, zero transparency, and no genuine loyalty benefit.
