A very useful addition to PayPal

I was a bit sceptical about Pay in Three at first because I thought it would be complicated or come with hidden catches, but it has been really straightforward. You apply at checkout in seconds, it does a soft credit check so it does not affect your score, and if you are approved the payments just come out automatically every month. No interest, no fees as long as you pay on time, which for me has been the case for me. What I like most is that it does not feel like debt in the way a credit card does. It is more like just spreading the cost of something you were going to buy anyway over a couple of months. I used it recently for a larger purchase and it genuinely took the pressure off without me having to think about it too much. The only thing I would say is that it is not available on every retailer or for every purchase amount, so occasionally you go to use it and it is not an option. That is a minor gripe though. Overall I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of breathing room on a purchase without paying through the nose for the privilege. Reviewed on: 8th June 2026

Never had any real issues with HSBC

I'm happy with HSBC customer service and using their mobile app, which is convenient for quickly checking my balance and transferring money is straight forward.
