Very disappointing experience with Virgin Money.

Very disappointing experience with Virgin Money. I applied for this credit card specifically because of the advertised 30 months 0% balance transfer offer. That was the only reason I chose this product. Based on those terms, I transferred a balance from another card. After just two months, I received an email informing me that interest would now be charged at the standard rate. This completely contradicts the expectation set by the 30-month promotional offer. It honestly feels like a bait-and-switch. You advertise a long 0% period to attract customers, then shortly afterwards start charging interest. Customers make financial decisions based on the promotional terms — this is not a small detail. This situation has caused unnecessary stress and financial uncertainty. I would strongly advise others to carefully review all terms and monitor their accounts closely. Trust is essential when dealing with financial institutions — and unfortunately, this experience has seriously damaged that trust. I am now considering submitting a formal complaint and escalating the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Reviewed on: 12th February 2026
