My honest review

I’ve been using Tembo for my Lifetime ISA and overall I’ve had a really positive experience so far. One of the main reasons I chose Tembo was because they seem genuinely focused on helping first-time buyers rather than just offering a standard savings account. The Lifetime ISA itself is simple to manage and the app makes it easy to see how much you’ve saved and when the government bonus is added. Seeing that 25% bonus appear on contributions is really motivating and makes saving feel worthwhile. The platform is also very easy to use. Setting up the account was quick and everything is managed through the app, which feels modern and straightforward. I can deposit money, track my progress and check my balance without any complications. The interface is clear and I’ve found it very beginner-friendly, which is helpful if you’re new to Lifetime ISAs. Another thing I appreciate is that Tembo doesn’t charge a monthly fee for the Cash Lifetime ISA, which means more of my money stays in the account. The interest rate has also been competitive compared to some other LISA providers I looked at when deciding where to open my account. What also stands out about Tembo is the extra support they offer for first-time buyers. They provide mortgage advice and guidance about buying a home, which makes the service feel more complete than just a savings account. Knowing there’s help available when it comes time to actually buy a property is reassuring. That said, because Tembo is a digital-first service, most support is handled online or through the app. Personally this hasn’t been a problem for me, but people who prefer traditional banking with branches or phone-based support might find it a bit different. Overall, I’ve found Tembo to be a reliable and easy-to-use provider for a Lifetime ISA. The app works well, the savings process is simple, and the government bonus makes a big difference when saving for a first home.
