My partner and I wanted to buy another rental property.

My partner and I wanted to buy another rental property. But our income was complicated. I work as a contractor, and my partner gets big bonuses that change each year and also has stock options. When we tried on our own, most bank didn't understand our real income, so they said we could only borrow a small amount right when we found the perfect house to buy. However, my mortgage broker Yin took the time to understand our whole situation.For my income, they found a lender that understands contractors and looked at my day rate and my work contracts. For my partner's bonuses, they used a lender that looks at the average of the last two years. They put together a strong application with all our paperwork: my contracts, my accounts, my partner's bonus history, and information about the stock options. They got us a mortgage based on what we really earn. The loan amount was over 35% higher than what the first banks offered us.
