Best sustainable and ethical high street bank

If you are looking for a sustainable and ethical choice, this is easily the best option among the high street banks for a standard current account (for online, check out Triodos as well). Unlike most mainstream banks, the Co-op does not offer services or finance to the fossil fuel industry nor other unethical industries. I feel content that my money is not being invested in activities that undermine our common future. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

The most sustainable option

A breath of fresh air to find a bank that is truly invested in creating a more sustainable world. Although it is entirely online, I have found using Triodos very straightforward and the newly designed website is great. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026
