Good regular saver at current rates

4
As well as a First Direct bank account I also set up a first direct regular saver. The interest rate for the product was 6% which is market leading at current rates, and you can save up to £300 per month (which I did). So across the year you get around 3% interest in £3600. I had absolutely no problems with the account. It was easy to set up online and I set up a standing order to pay in every month. It is worth bearing in mind that the day that your account is set up needs to be the day that your direct debit goes iut each month. A customer service representative mentioned this on the phone to me before I set it up and I was glad she did! Reviewed on: 1st September 2016

Good current account with great customer service

5
I switched to First Direct after hearing about their £125 joining incentive. I was accepted for the account and the switch went through smoothly. At various points during the switch I needed to phone First Direct's customer service line and I found their call center staff to be really helpful and friendly. The joining incentive was paid quickly and I also signed up for a 6% regular saver which is linked to the current account - this is the best I have seen on the market. Overall a very positive experience! Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

Great way to earn cashback!

4
I applied for an Amex Platinum Everyday credit card for the cashback it offered - I received an introductory offer of 5% cashback for my first three months and am currently receiving 1% cashback. I use the card for almost all my day to day spending and have already built up over £150 in cashback. Amex also offer some great 'save to card' offers e.g. 'Spend £50 and get £20 cashback ' in stores including Topshop and Argos. The only downsides are some major stores don't accept Amex and you have to wait until your card anniversary before you can actually receive your cashback. Reviewed on: 25th August 2015
