Review of the Bamboo Loans, Personal loan:

Bamboo are not helpful or understanding!

I have had a few loans from Bamboo, all of which apart from the current loan I have with them, I have paid off early. I was made redundant in November 2023 totally out of the blue and without notice. I had to contact stepchange as I had other loans with other companies. Stepchange put me on a monthly Debt Management Program where I make reduced monthly payments to them and they pay my creditors. 3 of the 4 creditors in the DMP have understood and accepted the reduced payments, Bamboo have refused the payment offer. So I do not recommend Bamboo, they are not understanding and do not help you when you have unforeseen financial problems Reviewed on: 27th March 2024

Reply from Bamboo Loans Thank you for your feedback which we are sorry to read. Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate your account on our system. We can advise that we would never refuse a payment on an account. However, at times we may not be able to set up a formal arrangement based on the proposed amount that a debt management company, such as StepChange, offers us. We do also offer a range of support options including long-term, reduced payment arrangements, however, there is a cap on how long we can extend an agreement. We will continue to work with StepChange and accept payments on your account, which will reduce your balance each month. If your account is passed to a debt recovery company, we will pass the arrangement details to them, and they will work directly with StepChange to review the options available.
