Review of the HSBC, Bank Account:

No interest but fab customer service.

I have had a basic current account with this company for years. Although their interest is pitiful (well at the moment non existent) at least their customer service is second to none. I once had an issue and phoned them up. After I'd spoken to one of their UK staff they said someone would phone me back and within ten minutes one of the managers was on the phone and had sorted out the problem. I also received a modest amount of compensation. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Review of the Halifax, Current Account:

One of the better current accounts out there

To be honest there's not many great current accounts out there these days. I'm not willing to pay for an account so of the free ones out there Halifax is one of the better ones. Although it pays no interest, you at least get five pounds each month so long as you transfer in 750 pounds and have two direct debits set up. Also you get a nice joining sum (when I joined it was 100 pounds). Reviewed on: 26th August 2015
