Review of the Aviva, Car insurance:

Thumbs up - pain-free

I used various comparison sites and got direct quotes online last year to find that Aviva were the cheapest for me for the level of cover I required for my car. Getting the quote, understanding what was/wasn't included and buying the insurance were all straightforward, clear processes. I've not had to use them to make a claim, but I've contacted customer services on one occasion by telephone to ask a fairly general enquiry and found the staff to be polite, helpful and knowledgeable enough to give me a trustworthy answer. I shopped around this year, as I always do, but it's the first time that my renewal quote has actually been a cheaper (and by a reasonable amount) than any other provider. It's the only time I've ever done a straightforward renewal, which was pain-free and quick online. I had to make a few amendments to my details shortly after and found the online account to be such a bonus as I didn't have to go through a call centre; I just made the amendment, was told how much more/what refund would be due on certain areas due to the changes, and with a few clicks had the confirmation sent through. I really appreciated the lack of admin charges when making changes to personal details too as a lot of providers like to stick a good £50+ on for the pleasure of them updating your information.
